100-APARTMENT PASSIVE COOPERATIVE

WORK DONE AT ARCHIKON CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOP

Budapest, 2012

The building was commissioned by the 13th district municipality of Budapest. The investor's goal was to build an apartment building that would fit into the given environment, maximizing the number of apartments, optimally placing cars parked in the area, and at the same time
create a friendly environment through green surfaces. The location of the 100 rental apartments was made possible by the merger of three plots. The building is divided into 3 blocks, which are connected by a unified traffic system that is free from crowds. A green community courtyard was formed on the first floor, with parking on the ground floor and basement level of the enclosed courtyard. Different sized apartments were designed in the different blocks, which are heated by ground probes and air-to-air heat exchangers. The air conditioning units are located in the basement and receive fresh air through the stairwell spindles.
